Dude that is awesome. But you know, now we'll also need a Helicarrier Quadcopter toy because that would be just bad ass.

That was crazy! The Helicarrier was being shown at a Comic-con. Any of you guys go to any of these conventions? I thought they were more about the comics and cosplay but if there are things like this I'd be interested in going and taking my kids.

Go to town old school. So far only Devastator appeals to me, but there are a couple more I am partial to that I would cave and buy if they re released. When IS devastator coming out? Ugh. Hate waiting.

I remember a lot of Gen 1 transformers, I had many of them, but I think that is the first time I've seen Skylynx.
For Father's Day, my wife actually bought me a couple of transformers, Optimus Prime and Starscream, the newer smaller ones. That transformers game looks pretty good. Any G1 transformer games that have been released that you guys would recommend?

I used to have the original Sky Lynx. He was kind of a lame Transformer, but my brother and I had him along with a dozen or so others. I loved the combiner ones. My brother loved the giant ones like Metroplex and Omega Supreme. If you like old school Transformers and like the voice of Optimus Prime, I definitely recommend playing Transformers War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron. War for Cybertron is the first one. Here's a link: smile.amazon.com/Transformers-War-Cybertron-Playstation-3/dp/B0030HM2WO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1435119662&sr=8-3&keywords=transformers+ps3It's not an amazing game, but it's very solid IMO. There's an autobot quest and there's a Decepticon quest, so you get to play through story arcs of both factions. You get to see some of your favorite G1 Transformers (although they are somewhat reinterpreted for the game, so it's not exactly the same). Anyway, I played both games and enjoyed the first one a bit more, but I would give them both a 7/10 in terms of score. Watch some reviews of the games so you can get an idea of what they're about. This new game certainly has a graphics style I love, but I just hope it has a fun single player mode.

My son and I finally started playing w/ our Kickstarter 3D printer, printm3d.com/. The OSX s/w was crap so we had to resort to using Parallels and Win7. But once I got that sorted, it was pretty cool just finding 3D models to print. I started w/ a demo Maker Robot and then my son chose a Diglett. Then I found some NES controller rings. This is going to be fun. My son's even doing a 3D printing camp in a few weeks so hopefully he'll pick up some tips for us.

Thanks dschroll, I will definitely check into those Transformers games. Too bad they had to reinterpret the look but I will still give it chance.
oldskool, that 3D printer looks fun. We were at the makerfaire this past weekend (http://www.makerfairekc.com/), and saw some cool things done by a 3D printer. One that caught my eye was a giant lego minifig of the Gordon character from Half-Life game. I'm still curious about how the 3D models to start from work so I'll do a little more research on that.
Pleas post some of the things you and your son make.

So I ended up canceling my pre order. Turns out the Japanese version releasing a few months later is going to be even better with more details and better paint. Decided if I'm going in on this thing I might as well go all in. Plus it gets released around Christmas time which is when I got the original devastator so it will be perfectly timed to be a kid again at Christmas time. Even if I'm buying my own present

I want to see you find a full on die cast one. That would probably weigh a TON.
