Drop in price? Doesn't that take like a year at least? You're telling me that you can wait a whole year to feast your eyes on next gen graphical goodness while every gamer around you is drooling and skipping to work to discuss their experiences with co-workers and CYE forum members? I predict you'll last no more than 2 months after the release of PS3 before buying one of the 2 systems.

I guess the main thing will be what games are on each system and how much they both cost and if there are any reported defects on either system. I guess if I want to wait, I'll have to stop visiting CYE or at the very last ban anyone caught discussing next gen gaming

Well, I just got back from another Circuit City and I found all 3 of the games I was looking for. This time instead of beating around the bush, I just went straight to an employee and asked about the games. He recognized the titles and told me that they took them off the shelf to keep in back for a 4th of july sale and that all those games will be on sale for $9.99. I asked if I could buy them now, and after checking with his manager, he said I could but I would have to pay for them at full price. Not a problem for me since that was my intention to begin with. This way, come next week when Circuit City has the sale, I bring in my receipt with those games on it, have them refund me 110% of the difference(circuit city policy if you buy something and it sells for cheaper within 30 days) and I got all my games for even cheaper. Nice of the employee to tell me about the sale though. Just as a word of caution to anyone else that wants to do this, don't open up the games until after you get circuit city to refund you the money. While I'm almost certain I will have no problems getting them to honor their price gurantee, I have heard a few stories of some circuit citys being very picky when customers do this and sometimes don't always honor it. I'm definitely going there this weekend to get my refund and I'll let everyone know how it goes, but I'm keeping my games unopened until I'm sure I got them for the cheaper price. Better safe than sorry.

On a side note, I stumbled upon an unexpected gem. Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy for the Gamecube was in a clearance bin and was selling for $9.96. So, I picked that one up. That had another one in there if anyone else wants one. Pyramus, I know you work right over there, so you might want to check it out since you listed that you want it. Look in the Clearance bin near the XBOX kiosks. It was technically me that wanted this game (or well, expressed the interest in it first, I don't know if Pyramus wants to play it now or not). We actually found it used at GameStop yesterday for 8.99, plus the 10% gamestop discount card thingie, so we're set with this game. Don't know if we're planning on heading there to check out any of the other sale items though.

fatty,
I totally appreciate it. Its ok though. The money I would save on the sale would just be spent in shipping the items to me. So, its all good. I'm looking for a good deal on Meteos, but I think I'll end up using my gamers gift card trick at Best Buy to get it for $25.
Thank you though. Its most generous of you.
If anyone wants anything from the Circuit City sale, let me know and I'll keep my eyes open for them when I go on sunday morning. I know Vado has already asked me to look for Baten Kaitos. Anyone else want anything?
Also, anyone who doesn't own F-Zero GX should damn well buy it for $10. This is a fantastic game.

That's true. For some reason I was thinking that it was actually more than 30%.
I stopped by one Game Rush today. They didn't have Wario Ware:Twisted but I picked up Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stone for $21 and Pac Man Pinball for $10.50.

They didn't have Wario Ware:Twisted but I picked up Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stone for $21 and Pac Man Pinball for $10.50. Sounds like you got some good prices on solid games. Definitely get wario ware twisted if you can, because that game is just fantastic. On a side note, it looks like this circuit city deal is spreading like wildfire. I'm hearing it all over now and several forums. Anyone that is interested in taking advantage of it, I highly recommend you get there first thing sunday morning to look through the games because I guarantee they will all be picked clean by that evening. Circuit City had a big $5 sale last year for 4th of July and there were already several people in line waiting to get into Circuit City when I first came. The next day when I went to another one, their entire clearance section was picked over save for a few sports titles.

Well, I went to Circuit City to price match my games that I picked up last week. No problems at all. The customer service person didn't even bat an eye. I even got the additional 10% that circuit city promises on price matches. So, for the 3 games I got from Circuit City, total cost to me after tax was $26.56. Not bad at all I hope some of you were able to score similar great deals. Remember, this sale is only good for sunday and monday, so if you were planning to go to get some games, go sooner rather than later.

Anyone else get in on the circuit city deal? I stopped by last Tuesday just to see what they still had left. I had Project Snowblind, Robotech Invasion, Second Sight, Rainbow Six 3, and Mafia in my hand but ended up just getting RS3 and Second Sight. As for the EB sale, I might have to check if they have any decent 8 bit or 16 bit games.
