That link lists all the sets about to retire. OK, I see. When I click on the link, it takes me to a product listing with a TON of sets on it. However, if you click the 'retiring soon' box, it filters it out. That being said, the Death Star does not show up on the list of retiring soon. The Imperial Shuttle does, another one I've had my eye on. At one point amazon had that thing selling for $210, but I held off as I wanted the Death Star more.

So, if you have an amazon Visa card, they are running a promo right now on toy purchases through the 16th. You can get 20% off your toy order on the first $100. To put that in perspective, the Lego Imperial Shuttle, which normally sells for $259, is on sale right now on amazon for $209. Using this promotion further reduces the price to $189. This is the set that is marked to be retiring soon (according to Lego.com).
Amazon also has the Superstar Destroyer set marked down to $309 (msrp is $399). Again, applying this coupon gets you this set for $289.
Sweet deals!

Its kinda funny given that WB games is the publisher of the Lego Marvel game, given they own DC Comics and all.
How is the Lego Deathstar coming along? I haven't even opened mine yet. We just got all the Christmas decorations put away.

No Deathstar yet. I didn't even show it. I'm keeping it for the right time. I've also got a LEGO Pod Racer set I've kept for a while. No rush.
My wife and daughter are visiting some friends in KY over MLK weekend. As a surprise to my son, he and I are flying down to San Diego to visit LEGOland, the Zoo and possibly Sea World during the same weekend. He's been asking to go for a while. Not sure who'll be more excited, he or I.

I read about that X-Wing. I WANT THAT.
Fun trip. I could've spent HOURS looking at the Star Wars Miniland. My son, not so much. I'll post pix when I get them uploaded.

Took my 7 yr old boy down to Carlsbad to visit Legoland. We stayed at the property just behind the park, Sheraton Resort. VERY nice resort, I'd highly recommend for a resort onsite. We got a pretty good deal on Expedia. However, if we went after March, I'd go for the new Lego Hotel. My son wants to go again just for that... I've heard varying reports on Legoland. My inlaws said it was much improved in 2011 vs the time they took my nephew years earlier, after it had decayed some. I think there's been quite a few improvements over the years. However, I can see some the issues some families see with the park. 1) It's a smallish park, definitely not the Disneyland size. Definitely doable in a day. 2) There's definitely an age range that works best for this place. If your kid doesn't really understand Lego, this might not be the best place. To really enjoy it, you know to know/understand/love Lego. Under 5 yrs old might not get a lot of the cool stuff. If your kid is a bit older, this might be a little on the young side. Those approaching tween years might find this place a little young. I'd say ages 5 - 9/10 work best. 3) If your kid isn't that into Lego, this might not be the best place. The whole appeal is seeing EVERYTHING in Lego. If your kid is indifferent to Lego, there are better places to go. 4) There aren't a huge amount of rides. But there are enough to enjoy. 5) Many of the rides are geared toward the younger set and families, as such, the rides move slow. And slow rides mean slow entry/exit. That means the lines move SLOW. As in 30+ minutes for some lines even when the line isn't long. The good thing is that many rides w/ long waits have Lego play areas so the kids can play with Lego sets while the adults watch them in line. It's a good way to kill time. PLUSES 1) Lots of cool stuff to see if you love Lego. The miniland areas were great. Of course, the Star Wars area was a hit for us. 2) If you like to buy Lego, this is the place for it. They've got almost every Lego thing you can think of, including most accessories. Not so much w/ the hard to find stuff though. I didn't see any Death Star sets. 3) They sell minifig series in the park AND the workers help you identify which ones are in the pack. We got about 8 of Series 9, including the chicken but missed out on one of the space guys. 4) There are 3 minifig trading stations, so you if you have a minifig to trade, you can do so w/ anything they are showing (which are ones that have already been traded in. 5) Lots of Lego activities so kids can build stuff, including Duplo stuff, racers and even Mindstorms (we didn't have time sadly). MINUSES 1) It's small. I wish the park had more to do/ride. 2) Ride lines move too slow, we wasted more time that I thought we should've because the rides aren't optimized to move participants. Then again, I understand this is part of crowd control. 3) It ain't cheap. I did use an online discount and when we went back for day 2, we used a free kids' ticket at the back of Lego Club magazine. That being said, my son and I LOVE this place. I love Lego, just as much as any kid obsessed with Lego. We had a blast going on rides like the Splash Blaster where you shoot a water gun at other boats and spectators splash you. There's a Sky ride where you pedal, the faster you pedal, the faster you go. The kids get to drive their own cars in a miniature town. We went on a Friday so we didn't have to deal w/ crowds. I left Sunday open to let him decide where to go and he wanted to go back to Legoland. WAY more crowded on a Sunday. There's also an attached aquarium with was kinda cool but I've been to nicer ones (Monterey is WAY better). I was more disturbed that they used Lego figures inside the tanks w/ sharks, rays, etc. I asked if the Lego would be toxic to the sea life and the answer wasn't very sufficient if you ask me... We also visited the San Diego Zoo which is HUGE. We didn't hit the whole place, my son kinda got tired (me too) and we spent the rest of the day at model railroad museum nearby. It was probably the BIGGEST model railroad museum I've ever visited. Very cool. San Diego is a very fun town.
