Holy shit, $1M? The concept is cool but as someone who's played w/ those LEDs, we're still not there. Most of my house needs 100W and nothing can replace it yet. The CFL's just don't have the right color and for anything above 60W, there's no LED alternative. I've used the LEDs to replace halogen floodlights and that is def a good solution. For a 3 lamp strip that used to be 450W, I got it down to under 70W with LEDs, not bad for a highly used light. I also replaced our kitchen hood lamp with LED. That was probably the best use because that halogen gets SO hot in the kitchen that the loss in heat was very noticeable.

Finally got a ship notification on my Ouya. W/ all my 3DS games and Wii U games, my backlog is quite overwhelming.
I'm going to need some vacation to clear this up.

Bodes well for Ouya. 'If' I had an Android device and could play a game on my phone or table and then continue on my TV/console, that'd be cool.
Yeah, Sony tried but I don't think the implementation has been well received, though you guys can correct me.
Hmm, too bad Nintendo has no portable consoles where they could carry this same concept to their home consoles using their network services to tie it all in. Oh wait...what's that? Missed opportunity? Shit yeah.

Backed my first Kickstarter: The Code Monkey graphic novel. Kind of funny because I think Greg Pak is an incredibly overrated comic book writer. Oh well. Took the $35 route which will net me a signed hardcover of the comic.

Is that the same comic from that show that was on G4?

The comic is based on various Jonathan Coulton songs.
And of course I get burned by my very first Kickstarter. They updated after it was over to point out that they said "Hard Copy" not "Hard Cover" to differentiate between the physical and digital versions of the comic. Classy!

So what are you guys thinking of the items you purchased through Kickstarter, happy with them? Oldskool, how is the ouya? I mentioned earlier how I collected playing cards, this might be my first backed kickstarter: Radical 80's playing cards by BICYCLE.

My Pebble is pretty cool.
The Ouya is OK. Games are the issue right now, haven't run into anything that screams at me. We do like You Don't Know Jack and you can even use iOS devices as controllers. We kept having issues with the game and figured out that the faceplates caused the buttons to stick. It's a known issue and Ouya has replaced 1 set so far, though I had to go to Twitter to get a fix. I did get $13 apology refund so I'll apply that to some games.

Have not got anything yet. They claim to have finished the first issue and it is going through the pipeline.

Nothru, are you still getting a hard copy (physical version) of the comic? Or did you end up getting the digital one?

I am getting a hard copy, yes, which I thought was a hard "cover." Since there is going to be bonuses, etc. in the hard copy, the digital copy will hit the services much sooner than I get it physically, I think.

I've been watching both the Mighty No. 9 and Shantae kickstarters, but from the sidelines. I knew they would reach their goal so I'm planning on buying a game when it is released instead. I forgot all about the Double Fine one, I wonder when it is supposed to be done.

Just got issue 3 of the Code Monkey comic digitally and the graphic novel is on the way in the mail. My first (and only) physical Kickstarter item! Mighty No 9 and Shantae seem like a long ways off still.

I'm a big street fighter fan so I had to back this:
The renders of the miniatures look great but if they come out to be at least Amiibo quality I will be happy. The game itself is the bonus for me but I really like the SF2 figures.
