10 mins almost all highway. No traffic. Going used to save money on the FJ. Most guys I work with spend 40k and up on a vehicle. I'll stick with Craigslist for now, thanks

4Runner and FJ are REALLY different. 4Runner is a bit longer inside and has option for 3rd row. FJ is a bit wider, taller, shorter. The biggest negative about the FJ is that the rear is FULL of blind spots. But I grew up driving my dad's windowless Econline van and could back that into a parking spot when I was in high school. You get used to it. Also, the rear passengers can't roll their windows down because of the suicide doors. Frankly, I don't care sinceI don't sit in back... The suicide doors do make it a little tricky to get out of the backset in tight parking lots but it's not unmanageable. AND, get if you do get the FJ, get the windshield insurance clause, it's about $20 for me on Farmers. That GIANT flat front windshield can cost up to $2K, but I've always used insurance. If I get a crack (and it's not hard), I immediately go to Safelite for the $50 window repair as that crack can get big FAST. When I first got mine, I spent a lot of time here. LOTS of great ideas/tips for DIY improvements that are REALLY cheap. I bought one w/o the roof rack because I wanted to use my Yakima setup w/o making the car even taller. I found a guy on the board who lived locally and DIY'ed Yakima adapters that attached to the OEM mounting points and he made them at the local Maker Shed. Pretty cool. www.fjcruiserforums.com/forums/reaper, sent you my car pic on FB.

My commute is ~38 miles or so each way. Heavy traffic both to and from the office. Generally 45min-1hr going to the office, 1 hr - 1hr 15 min driving home at night.
I hate my commute. Wish we could move further out west to relieve it, but my wife and I both love the area we live in, so I tolerate it.

I went to check out the FJ tonight. Love that vehicle. Guy was asking 20. I offered 18. He went down to 19.5. I offered 19. He wouldn't budge. I walked away but hope we'll talk again. It was in great condition. Small dent in the hood. Tires look like they are near done. Roof rack is fading with a little rust. Nothing serious. Would buy at 19 and May go up still. Let him sweat for a night.
Anyone know about powder coating? Would like to have that rack redone.

I wouldn't spend the money on that rack. Frankly, it's a POS. Check the forum I sent and ask for rack ideas. If you're going to spend money, get a real one. If you're really going to use the rack, get something like the Baja. It's pretty bada--. www.bajarack.com/toyota-fj-tyfj10-rackYou can even sleep on it. Or get adapters to fit a Yakima or Thule rack on the OEM mounting points. Then the world is your oyster and you can find a ton of those on Craigslist.

Anyone else check out the Topps Star Wars card trading app? Every day they give you credit to spend on packs of cards. It's like the old days where you don't know what you're going to get inside a pack and you'll get doubles of some cards. However, they make it easy to trade with people and they provide a checklist so you can monitor your collection to see what you need. They also release crazy rare cards so sometimes you get lucky and snag one of those that are always hot in demand. Jincman introduced me to it and I'm kinda digging it. Brings me back to when I was a kid collecting baseball cards. Scratches that collector itch without costing me money like I had been sinking into amiibo.
BTW, just sold off one of my amiibo for $45. It's kinda nice to have that monkey off my back.

How do I do that? The interface isn't intuitive (to me...).

It's ok, it took me some time to figure that out. On your friends list, when you click on my name, it will pop up a menu where you can choose a variety of things. one of those is "Offer Trade" Then it takes you to of my cards so you can drag and drop the cards I have up onto the top bar. You can request at most 9 cards per trade. The Double Arrows near the top bar are a filter that allows you to sort my cards based on faction, color, Duplicates, and "Cards you need" so that you're only looking at cards you need and not ones you already have. Any card that has a small box with a number on it represents a duplicate card, meaning if I have a Luke Skywalker and a small box with 5 on there, it means I have 5 of that card. If there is no box with a number on it, it means I only have one of that card. So, when you request trades, only request cards I have duplicates of. You're welcome to all of those.
I'll send you a trade to get the ball rolling here. Look for it soon.

Haha. I'm gonna pass on this. I love Legos but I own plenty of my own legos along with Lego videogames that I'm not craving to mix those 2 worlds together even more.
