Merry Christmas! Just got the Switch set up and played the first Mario level up to the first boss. I tried playing with detached joy cons, pro controller, docked and undocked. Seems pretty cool. The location of the joystick on the right joy con seems a little low to me. I’ll probably end up using the pro controller more. We also got the expansion for Horizon: Zero Dawn. So well be playing that . That’s it for video games for now. I’ll probably spend some money on the Destiny expansion. Also considering PUBG. Hope y’all are having a great day! Good to still be part of this small community

Merry Christmas all!
Was hoping we would have the house finished enough to move in but no dice. Wife is s really bummed about it. Hopefully in the next week or so we will pass final inspection and slowly start moving in.
Christmas Eve was great, got to eat my grandma's annual burrito and tamales dinner which I love. Been enjoying time playing games and being wit family today.
Hope you guys are having a great Christmas, like reaper said, it's great to be a part of this community.

mmm tamales.
Got a Zero Dawn and GT for PS4 from my friend who works there. Got Axiom Verge and gifted ourselves the 8bitdo controller w/ motion control. Gave my son a 4K 28" display for his gaming rig and Steam Link I got for $5. Sadly for him, we don't get any playing time until Jan 8 since we're off to Paris and Barcelona. At least we get to use the new controller and Axiom Verge.

During my Christmas holiday, I decided I would bring the newly acquired Playstation VR with me back to Chicago so my family could try (my nephew said he would bring his PS4). It was the hit of the holiday. My older brother, who typically hates video games, even admitted that it was pretty cool tech. The stand out favorites were the shark encounter on Playstation VR Worlds, Batman Arkham VR, and the X-Wing mission in Star Wars Battlefront.
In terms of cool gifts, I did pretty well this year, many of which were a surprise for me. Jincman got me a Philips Hue light starter kit, which I absolutely love. This opened Pandora's box now as I immediately started investigating other ways to get hue lighting in my house hold, which my mom was happy to indulge by getting me 2 hue bloom lights that I now have behind my TV to create a cool ambilight type of effect. My mom also got me the 8bitdo wireless arcade stick and Okami HD on PS4. My younger brother got me Skyrim on Switch, which looks to be replacing my PS3 copy of Skyrim. That means if anyone wants a free copy of Skyrim for PS3, you are welcome to mine. Just let me know.
My wife surprised me with Dropmix, a very cool board type game that's made by Harmonix and lets you create your own song mashups. I didn't even know this thing existed and it has been a very pleasant surprise. All in all, not only were the gifts great, but it was great seeing old family and friends that I don't get to see all that often since we relocated out east. It definitely brought waves of nostalgia for my wife and I as we fondly remembered our lives in Chicago. Too bad it was so fricking cold there during our stay. Brrrr.....

Saw Dropmix at PAX, that looked very interesting.
Welcome to the world of home automation. I use a SmartThings Hub so I can add almost anything w/o issues and use 1 app. It can be found CHEAP on Amazon from time to time. I tend to use iHome plugs so I can turn on my own stuff rather than be tied to expensive bulbs, but I do use Cree connected ones from Home Depot. Also use Alexa and there's a satisfaction of just using voice to control stuff. You do have to give in to the 'They can hear you' vibe though. Made even creepier as I started to watch the move the Circle.
