Hey everyone, we are living through some crazy times right now. Everything seems to be closing in response to the COVID-19 situation. My daughter's school has officially closed indefinitely so she's home for the next few weeks.
Hopefully this situation will soon blow over, but now, more than ever, stay home and play some games. Be safe everyone.

Yup, definitely f'ing weird.
My kids HS got called today, out till April 6. My WFH starts Monday and was supposed to be till Apr 6 and then 12 hours later moved to Apr 13. My wife is a psychologist with a private practice and pretty much has to go virtual as well because of the type of clients she deals with.
4 people WFH 4 weeks. We're gonna kill each other.

Same story here. Schools are shutting their doors, Microsoft sent us home. Sports are canceled. Grocery stores are being hit hard. I’m trying to resist the urge to stock up on food. I’m less afraid of the virus than I am afraid of how society will react.

For those with an Xbox, I highly recommend spending the day with Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Loving it so far.

Might as well ask here, y'all might know. Looking for games to play online w/ my work community so we don't go batshit crazy yet still have some semblance of community. Extra points for games more than 16 people and don't require special logins for different sites.
- Jackbox.tv is the obvious choice. Lie Swatter handles 100 people and I can do this by using a Steam version and sharing my screen w/ Zoom. Players only need. a browser. - Tabletopia.com - jigsawpuzzles.io: multiplayer jigsaw puzzle

Make a kahoot quiz, be funny and creative, get everyone online in a voice call and let the laughter begin. Questions about your coworkers, the boss, etc.. be nice but funny ...

Wow, that is crazy. Schools are cancelled here this week and they are still deciding if it will last longer, I’m thinking it will.
I am working from home the next two weeks, my wife is a nurse in a kid’s psychiatric hospital and will be working the next three days so we will see how that goes. Right now they are forcing everyone to come through one entrance and screening everyone who enters.
Stay safe guys.

Now I'm glad I live in Idaho. We're now up to 8 confirmed cases, but nothing in my vicinity (100 mile radius). Obviously that can and will change.
Still can't get toilet paper though.

Just saw the lockdown order for California. Stay safe oldskool. Looks like grocery stores, pharmacies and banks will stay open. All good. Working out every day to get off the damn screen. I have about 4 hours/day of Zoom calls and the rest of the work online. At the end of the day, I listen to vinyl on my analog stereo (tube amps) and build LEGO. We're stocked w/ food and take out is working, including cocktails/beer now. It's the lack of social interaction that's wearing on us. We'll be like this for at least another month if not longer. And the rest of the country hasn't even caught up. There's gonna be a lot of unemployment. This is worse than 9/11 and 2008.

Hey guys, it has been a little while. How are you hanging in there?
My family is still adjusting even though we have been at it for a while. With three teenagers, it is hard keeping them on a good schedule. They are getting their online schoolwork done along with other responsibilities, but love staying up really late and sleeping in. We keep adjusting things as necessary though.
My wife's job is still keeping her busy for the most part though they are starting to slow done some and asked all the nurses to take a day of PTO next week since they are not getting as many kids admitted.
My job is still keeping me busy, which is good. I do like working from home quite a bit, but there are times I do miss seeing my co-workers. Hopefully there is a chance in the future after things get better that I might be able to work from home more often. I do have quite a few family members and friends from church that are struggling more with the financial situation, unfortunately, which is the case for so many.
As for my general well-being, I am generally a homebody so I am handling things pretty well. I try to limit the grocery runs and with us being in a smaller city outside of KC the parks are still pretty empty and it is easy to practice social distancing. We are blessed in this way and have been able to play tennis quite a bit. Also, have to say that the few times that I am out that people have been pretty good about practicing the social distance here. I really feel for those who are stuck in apartments and where the parks and such are locked because of the density of people.
Anways, I hope and pray things are going OK for everyone here. You are all on my mind quite a bit, I just don't get around to posting much and I'm sorry for that.

We're OK but in California we're ahead of y'all. We're about start Week 6 of shelter in place. We're all going stir crazy. Mandatory masks has just been started for the local counties. Kids are doing OK, my senior is bummed because she can't graduate HS properly but she's looking forward to Freshmen year at UT Austin. We only hope (and pray) that it's not virtual. My son is fine, just means more headset time... Wife has private practices as a psychologist so her plate is full.
Tennis? Heck no, we can't do any of that, has to be 6' and it's getting strict. But I am a firm believer in flattening the curve.
My bright spot was that I survived our round of layoffs last Wed but our company took a huge hit. I was not looking forward to looking for a job after we all get to go back to normal. It's going to be very ugly and uncomfortable for a while. Hope you guys are all doing OK.

That’s good that you both still have work. I know that you switched to a new company not too long ago so it’s good that it is still working out. My senior was bummed about graduating properly as well, it looks like the school still plans to have graduation maybe in June or July so we’ll see how that works out.
I saw videos of some places in CA where they were dumping sand on the skate parks to discourage skateboarding. Here they have taped off the kids playground areas which makes sense. When we do play tennis, it is just with our household.
Now that some of these states like Tennessee and Georgia are going to try and reopen pretty soon it will be interesting to see what kind of precautions they take.

Hope you are all hanging in there and keeping safe.
On a lighter side, not having sports to watch has been tough. I love the Jordan documentary “Last Dance” but I found myself watching Madden 2020 esports and some cornhole competition haha. I don’t watch NASCAR but might tune in a bit today to see it a bit.
Our state just reopened on Friday so hopefully things go pretty smooth and we can keep the curve flattened. Our company sent out a survey about coming back to work. We’re currently looking at coming back in June at 25% capacity with temperature checks at the door and masks so they are feeling people out on what they think. I’ve been more productive at home so it would nice if I could still work from home for a while.

Scheduled office return is June 1 but it's all gonna go in stages. I won't be surprised if I don't go back to the office till the end of the year.
At the least, some things are starting to open up in the Bay Area.
