I received my new console a few days ago. Going into it, it was the least exciting console launch for me. There were no mind blowing new games, no incredible new features, nothing that really drove excitement for me yet. I don’t even have a 4K tv yet! I mainly bought it on potential of greatness such as the 12GF of gpu performance and the ray tracing.
That being said, I’ve actually been surprisingly happy I bought when I did. I love the quality of life improvements such as hdmi cec which I use to turn my tv on and off for me. The load time reduction and quick resume is great! It’s so much faster to get into a game. The share button on the controller is very nice and I love how vids and pics come to the app on my phone and I can share them easily from that point.
One downside is the lack of an optical port. I’m not able to connect my speakers or headset yet.
But the biggest upside to me is that there are just a ton of great games for those on ultimate and they all run smooth as butter. The new Star Wars game from respawn is now free because ultimate includes ea game pass. I also grabbed other games I’ve never played like the newer Mirrors Edge.
The machine is essentially silent. I don’t hear a thing. It seems very well designed.
Overall, I’m happy with the box and looking forward to some amazing games when they come along. I tile then, I’m holy with all the games I’m currently playing such as doom and Star Wars!

Yeah, the 4K part is annoying. I have a 4K display and watch the native apps on my LG C9 so I can keep the res. With my PS5, it's hard because my AVR isn't 4K. AND, I've testing out my HDMI cables run in the walls almost 10 years ago. F me, not 2.1 compliant and the PS5 flickers. Now I have to run a new 2.1 cable and not sure how w/o having it visible. Ah, the pains of early adoption.
