I played on the N64 and loved it.
I have to be honest though . . . when I heard that it was going to be a DS launch title . . . I was less then thrilled as I have played it to death.
Now that I have seen that Nintendo is making lots of changes to it on the DS, including adding new levels, I am looking forward to playing it again.

Definitely in the top 5 games I've ever played. If you haven't played it , you shouldn't even be on this forum. Anyhow, even if the DS version had been a straight port I would have gotten it. Now that the new stuff has been revealed, it's by far my most anticipated DS launch game. Though it won't really use any new DS features, I can't help but be excited to play that thing all over again, anywhere I want to. Shawn

Yeah yeah yeah. I've been wanting to play Mario 64 for a long while, but its hard to do when you don't own an N64 and Nintendo, for whatever reason, decided not to create a port on a GC disc like they did with the Zelda games.
As much as I would love to buy an N64, I just can't justify owning yet another gaming console when there are about a dozen games I haven't played on the 4 consoles I already do own. Still, I am most excited that the DS seems to be more than capable of handling N64 games. I look forward to the other games Nintendo may try and re release for it.
Also, there are plenty of new things that make good use of the touch screen with the upcoming Mario 64 DS. Check out the numerous mini games and such. Looks like a lot of fun.
Man, I hope Nintendo doesn't release a remodelled version of the DS. Otherwise it will be called the Nintendo DS SP. Its gonna get too long.

Ok,
Yes, you offered to lend me your N64, but when I own 12 games that haven't finished/played yet it makes it hard for me to want to borrow a new game system along with several new games I should play for it.
Don't get me wrong, I very much want to play through Mario 64, and thanks to the DS I will have my opportunity. I just really try and keep things reasonable when it comes to gaming. I don't want to bite off more than I can chew. With all the games I have now and the ones I am buying this year, I have enough games to keep me busy well past next year. That doesn't mean I won't be buying games next year, but it just means I really try and limit myself to only buying games I plan to play through. If I borrow a system and then continue to buy games, I'll never get to everything.
I personally hope the DS gets lots of N64 ports as there were quite a number of games I never got to play on the N64 that I really wanted to. Thank goodness Nintendo released Ocarina of Time on the GC as that was definitely a must play.
I will definitely be picking up Conkers Bad Fur Day on XBOX since I missed it on the N64. Looks to be lots of fun, although the online portion isn't all that appealing to me.

go ahead, point and laugh and criticize and judge all you want, but im hoping for a Pokemon Puzzle League on the DS. it's actually a rehashing of Panel de Pon, which we first saw as Tetris Attack. in multiplayer, its some crazy fun stuff.
CRAZY.
so yes, mr Schroll....what else are you looking forward to?

so yes, mr Schroll....what else are you looking forward to? Well, let's see...there are a number of N64 type games I would like to see come out on the DS. Waverace Paper Mario F-zero Starfox Rogue Squadron--some kind of co op type game would be fun I'm sure there are more, but those are ones that I would definitely be interested in reliving on the DS since I missed their N64 counterparts

a LOT of the mini games look great, others a bit on the lame side. but heck it's definitely a GREAT addition. it's almost like getting a free wario ware lite version. plus you always have the multiplayer options as well. I am SERIOUSLY juiced for DS man. It's probably my most anticipated gaming anything this holidy. I follow ANY news regarding it DAILY!

I would LOVE to see: Goldeneye Pilot Wings Tetrisphere (why this game didn't catch on is beyond me) Starfox ooooh, pilotwings...that's a good one I totally forgot about. EA already announced that Goldeneye will be coming for the DS. The problem is that it won't be the Goldeneye from Rare, but the new Rogue Agent game from EA. How good it is has yet to be determined. Sigh....at this point with EA having the rights for the Bond license and Sony now owns the actually Bond license(Sony recently bought MGM) I don't see the original Goldeneye making its way out on any Nintendo platform.

I was watching Cinematech on G4-TechTV today, which is a show where footage is shown of various video games, and they showed some footage of Goldeneye on the N64. That was really a great game. It is one game that really deserves to be re-done for a current generation in a ‘director’s cut’ kind of way. Hey . . . If Rare can do Conker, then why not Goldeneye? (legal those issues aside . . . they can be overcome).

I'd pay $100 for a Goldeneye remake on the DS. No joke.
No, Dave, that doesn't mean you can buy it for $29 and resell it to me for a $100 if ever they do make it. Cheap bastard.
Shawn.
