Completed Picross e8 for 3DS.
I thought I'd be done with a couple others by now, but they're taking FOREVER. (Super Mario Odyssey & Captain Toad Treasure Tracker ... the latter of which has far more content than I ever imagined. I'm a bit past 2/3 of the way to collecting all the Power Moons in Odyssey.)

Finally! I finished the last level of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker for Wii U. It is complete. What an annoyingly difficult and tediously long final level.
I'd give the game a C+. The camera control just took too much work to fully enjoy the game. When more deaths occur due to camera work than actual platforming you know there's a problem.

That game started out fun but I have to agree w/ you. After a certain point, pointing the camera was just too frustrating.

LIttle Nightmares on PS4 via Gamefly.
Think creepy Little Big Planet with more of a puzzle feel. My kind of game, though probably not everyone's bag. Thank goodness I didn't buy it retail but I'm glad I rented it.

I recently modded a PS Vita and I am absolutely loving it. I hacked it and put a ton of Vita and PSP games on it. Man, I wished I had gotten a Vita years ago. Honestly, had I gotten a Vita, I would be much less impressed with Switch as the Vita is a pretty capable little handheld. Nonetheless, the first game I played on my newly modded Vita was Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate. I'm a HUGE fan of the Arkham series and was definitely interested to try my hand at the handheld one. I would give this game a 7/10. It's a solid Metroidvania type game and all, but it just cannot hold a candle to the Rocksteady made games. The game's visuals are pretty solid but it tries to do this 2.5D type thing where it's 2D but it has you exploring areas that are in the background or foreground. It can make navigating the game a bit of a pain since you're kind of forced to go in one direction and have to go the spot on the screen that will take you to the background area and then you can get to where you are wanting to go. Definitely not ideal.
The story of the game is ok, but there are a lot of things that just don't make sense. For instance, why would Wayne Corp. leave all these crates scattered throughout Blackgate Prison with Batman gear in them? I know this helps facilitate Batman getting various upgrades so he can explore the prison, but surely there has to be a better way to do this than have crates scattered across the prison that no one else have touched.
The final boss in the game was a bit of a letdown and pretty easy all things considered. But, I played the game through and through, collecting all of the items and solving all of the puzzles. If you have a Vita, this one is definitely worth checking out. And if you don't have a Vita...

Messed around with some of the PSP games on my hacked Vita. I have a Neo Geo compilation set that's on the PSP, and decided I was finally going to play through a game I loved as a kid, Magician Lord.
This is a game that I pumped in quarter after quarter in at my local arcade as I thought it was the coolest thing ever. As I started playing through the game, waves of nostalgia were washing over me, until I finally started to realize that this game is INSANELY hard and truly kills you off so quickly and easily that it is designed to just be sucking down all your quarters.
One of the coolest aspects of this game is that you can turn into different things, dragon, ninja, etc. each with its own special powers. It's very much like Altered Beast. The difference being is if you get hurt enough, you go back to being the standard character. And given everything in this game is trying to hurt you, I would get to enjoy being that other character for a whopping 30 seconds before I was ultimately turned back to normal and would die soon after.
Thankfully as an arcade port on a console system, I have unlimited continues. Even that can only get you so far because there is one level where you have a ton of floating platforms you have to jump to while you're being swarmed by these floating eye balls that ultimately knock you off the platforms. When you inevitably die, you start from the beginning of that area again. I must've died 30 times or so before I finally got through that level to make it to another check point.
Long story short, this game does not stand the test of time. Love the idea of this game, but it's main purpose is to kill you often so you would pour more credits into it. I'm glad I made it through it to the end, but this is one where my memory of this game was far kinder than the reality of it.

Super Mario Odyssey is finally complete! Collected all 880 in-game power moons, purchased the remaining 119 to reach 999. Beat the final level that was unlocked. It's been a while since I 100%-ed a 3D Mario game, so this feels pretty good.

Finally finished 1979 Revolution Black Friday on iOS. Always find it interesting hearing/reading historical perspectives from other sides.
Controls can be wonky at times but the story is compelling (to me).

I’m too hooked on splatoon at the moment. I’ve put in over 120 hours in that game and I’ve barely played the single player campaign. This is my favorite new IP in years.

There are 2 moons in particular that are ... let's just say, annoying. But I found a couple VERY helpful tips that make it easier (one I guessed myself, the other ... I did not, but probably could have if I thought about it enough). Anyway, if you ever get to *those* moons and need a tip let me know.

Finished Iconoclasts and Steamworld Dig 2, two fantastic Metroidvanias on the Vita. Also finished the Hidden Ones for Assassin's Creed Origins and about to start the Curse of the Pharaohs.

Just finished Teraway on my PS Vita. This game is also on PS4, but I like the Vita version better as you can tell this was designed to really make use of all the Vita features such as the camera, microhone, rear touchpad, touch screen, etc. I have to say, this game was absolutely fantastic. It is about as Nintendo quality as I have seen a 3rd party game get. The paper theme was extremely well implemented top to bottom, all the paper characters, settings, and even sounds as paper is unfolding. The controls were spot on and the story did a job of incorporating the player into the actual story.
I went nuts on this game and collected everything, so I finished it at 100%. The game has tons of checkpoints throughout so if you die, you quickly respawn very close to where it happened. Unlimited lives, so no having to worry about running out of lives or continues. And, the game even gives you a web link to give you instructions on how to make various characters out of paper in real life.
My one nitpick with the game is that towards the end the game has you rolling around in a ball form and puts you on some narrow paths making it easy to fall off. Of course, I quickly respawned, but since I was trying to gather all the collectibles (which will still count as you getting them even if you die) I ended up dying quite a bit to navigate some of the off beaten paths the collectibles were located at.
Overall though, this was a fantastic game and I cannot recommend it enough if you enjoy platformers. And my daughter, who doesn't typically like videogames (sad but true), has really taken a shine to this one as well.
I would give this one a 9/10.

I beat Assassin's Creed: Origins on my Xbox One X. The game was very good. Visuals were outstanding and the developers clearly spent a lot of time putting many fun items into the title. You can race chariots, fight in an arena, go on involved missions with well developed storylines, tackle roaming bosses, on and on and on. So many things to do. It seemed like I should love it but I didn't. It is a great game but for some reason I didn't really get into the setting/story as much as I thought I might. I am happy I played it but was also happy to be done and didn't feel like going into see all the side missions that I missed, etc. If you like this setting, you'll love the game. For me, Horizon Zero Dawn just appealed to my sense of wonder much more than this did. So, overall, I'd give the game a 10/10 on a technical level and a 7/10 on personal appeal and an overall 8.5/10. Recommend it. It was fun.

Finished the Curse of the Pharoahs for Ass Creed and of course the last two trophies are bugged so I can't get my 100% back yet. Great game, but still not up to par with the assassinations in Unity and Syndicate. Too bad the backlash against those games led them in this direction.

A Way Out. Fun game, very much like Uncharted as we continued to play. Seems like you can have different endings.

If two people want to co-op that game, only one needs to own it. The other can send the other a link to download and they can play without owning it, over the internet.

It's an oldie but goodie but got around to completing Life Force again (emulated on my DS lite): I love the Gradius games (Gradius V is my favorite) so I replayed this one. Had to use the rewind feature of the emulator, though, I won't lie. Don't have the time and endurance to try and beat it the old school way.
