Revisting the Backlog threads - what were your favorites?

Since we have been at this for a while I thought it would be fun to take a look back at the games we played, reminisce a little and share some of your favorite games. I have an ulterior motive as I would like to hear game recommendations as to one games I will play next. I will start with 2014 but will be adding in other years after I have them compiled.  Really had a fun time going back and revisiting this thread (and seeing oldskool's comments about how others are running circles around us).

Looking back at 2014 I have to say that I really enjoyed both Mass Effect 3 and Batman Arkham Asylum. And while Batman was a really good game, finishing the Mass Effect trilogy is one of those gaming moments for me that I won't forget. Loved the different story lines and the attachments that you develop with your team members. Decisions you made in early games really did effect how the game would play (and which characters would still be alive). If you haven't played any of the Mass Effect games and wanted to get a feel I would say play #2 but if you like it at all I would strongly recommend starting with the first and playing through the trilogy.

Also revisiting that thread I think I learned that Rusty is truly the Real Deal and I might have to go and play that. I'm not a big baseball fan but I think this type of game might be up my alley.

Another thing I noticed is that UsualNoise is the Puzzle King. And he shares my love for Picross. I regretfully admit that I still haven't completed Picross DS and Picross 3D. But the amount of puzzles and value from each of those games is insane! I try to complete each one without any strikes and under the time limit imposed by Picross 3D and it can be challenging. So even though I haven't finished them I have put in a very large amount of hours into each one and they are some of my very favorite puzzle games and right up there with Chess. Recently I came across a chance to spend my coins on mynintendo.com, there is a 40% off coupon for Picross round 2 for the 3DS. Picked it up since it is only available digitally in the US.

Yeah, I love me some Picross.

Picross 3D: Round 2 was a beast - at least to finish everything perfectly. I ended up logging almost 80 hours on it!

Looking back at 2014 besides my Zelda playthrough I probably enjoyed Pushmo and Crashmo the most, again a puzzle game but different from any others I can remember. Wish they'd make another sequel for the Switch!

I have played a little bit of Picross 3D: Round 2 and I will tell you that it is taking a bit to adjust to the dual colors. When I think I am picking one color but then actually use the other...strike...start the board over again.
