If you mean a little play in the vertical plane, along the slot that it slides into, yes. But it's SO minimal that I almost have to force it up/down w/o pushing the button to feel it. Non-issue.
Regarding the wifi, I 'might' be seeing it. I do notice that I get 1 or 2 bars of 5GHz while my iPhone gets 5 bars. But that's ALL dependent on how they show relative receive sensitivity. Apple screwed it up several times on several different iPhones and trust me, they test out the wifi A LOT. Even w/ a few bars, I'm seeing up to 40 Mbps speed with my 110 Mbps Xfinity connection. Am I able to use 100% of my pipe? No, but the Switch doesn't need 100 Mbps. Complaining for complaining's sake. I did have to exchange my Ethernet dongle, it didn't work with the Switch so I ordered another one that uses the same chipset as Hori.

I'm talking about if you pull/push your joy cons to/from the screen, so more the horizontal. In the video that reaper posted, it showed people wiggling their joy cons in their switch and said that was not right. Mine have a slight wiggle, but so did the ones at the Nintendo preview event so I figured that was pretty much the norm. Just doing a sanity check I guess.
I have the same with Wi Fi. Only 2 bars for 5GHz, but full bars for 2.4 GHz. Like you, I'm getting 40+Mbps down, so I'm not worried at all.

The left one wiggles very slightly in the horizontal plane but hardly noticeable. The right one is fine.
If mine wiggled like the one in the vid, I'd exchange, that's a bit much.
This is all early adopter stuff. TBH, I can't really any new h/w from any company that didn't have a handful of units w/ failures. Plus, this is why lots of people wait till version 1.1... All typical consumer product cycle stuff. Terrible excuse, but I'm not surprised.
I'm such an Apple fan and I can't recall any of their devices in the last 10 years that didn't have a problem off the bat. Or at least a problem that got meme'ed on youtube.

yeah, agreed...if mine were really wobbly I would return but so far mine seem to be ok. I'm just curious if that issue is more on the tablet side or more on the joy con side?
All hardware launches have issue. You show me a game console and I'll find you a dozen youtube videos of people having issues with it at launch.

Honestly the hardware issues some have had aren't a big deal to me as you'll always have a small number of failures. The most important issues to be resolved before I get a Switch are (in order of importance): 1) Non-Zelda games available that I actually want to play 2) Price: console - need at least a pack-in game I want or a lower system price; accessories - too expensive 3) Joy-con losing sync 4) Saves locked to internal memory 5) Screen getting scratched by dock 6) Games not tied to system, downloadable to multiple Switches I'm a huge anti-scratch guy on my devices - even with a screen protector I wouldn't want to see THAT scratched either. Maybe it's limited to some docks but either way that would have to be resolved universally before I jump in. Fortunately we have many who've already taken the plunge so I can live vicariously through you until some of the stuff above happens.

I am completely happy with Zelda on WiiU and happy to wait this one out. Maybe I'll hop on board in a year or so.

My biggest is complaint is from an old guy. I was playing Zelda last night in portable mode and I got an new item. The info screen pops up. I can't read it. The text was so small. Now I need to wear my glasses playing this game. Argh.

You know, playing on my home theater projector screen I actually thought the text in Zelda was pretty small. I can only imagine on the Switch screen!

My big Switch confession is that while I was quite vocal about my disapproving of Nintendo's pricing on their Pro Controller, I think it may be my favorite controller of all the systems. I find it to be really comfortable, the analog sticks and buttons just have a great feel to it. Yes, having digital triggers stinks compared to analog ones, but overall, I am really digging this controller.
I still think it's overpriced, but I looked at it like a one time expense that I will get years of use out of, and I have no regrets thus far with it.

“We’re talking to a range of companies about other services, companies like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon — things that will come in time,” said Fils-Aime. “In our view, these are not differentiators. What differentiates us is the way you play with the Nintendo Switch and what you can play. And that will continue to be our focus into the future as we continue driving this platform.”

I printed this last night. I did a quick print so it was a bit rough. Unfortunately, it's not a good charging stand because the pass through holes don't even fit the Nintendo USB-C cable. I tried it w/ a micro-USB and USB-C adapter and that's too long. I found a folding one and a 2 piece stand. I'll try those.

New info on Switch's online plans. www.ign.com/articles/2017/06/02/nintendo-switch-online-service-delayed-to-2018Basically, $20 a year. Comes with a virtual console game of some sort (only NES games right now). The good news is that Nintendo seems to have changed their stance and now will let subscribers access the game as long as they are a paid subscriber. So, no more of this expires in one month BS.

As I commented to my brother, this is the first affordable part of owning a Switch (compared to the other console online services, not compared to previous Nintendo services of course).

I thought this was interesting. I may be able to hold out until an upgrade becomes available!
