I snagged Zelda from Best Buy when it was $36 GCU (it actually is again right now BTW). Short of a price glitch (it was $15 briefly yesterday for 15 minutes I think) it probably won't get much lower.

i saw that deal but it was an hour in and I missed it. I still need to play Skyward Sword and A Link Between Worlds, but I will get to it. I try to stay up to date playing both the Final Fantasy and Zelda series but I've been slacking.

Ooh, Link Between Worlds is a great game, one of the best 2D they've ever done. (Yeah, it has 3D effects but it is basically a 2D Zelda.)

What's this VC you speak of? I'm pretty sure Nintendo has no plans for VC again. Why sell you a game when they can rent it to you and make you pay for it over and over again. But, I agree. Fantastic game. Very creative and original. I played through the game multiple times to get the "true" ending.

Argh, you engineers. VC/eshop, whatever, you know what I mean. The article mentions that the game is available on Oculus VR too. WHAT?!?!

I've been on the fence about Starlink myself, looks interesting but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Probably will if/when it drops below $20.

I have Starlink. Picked it up on Black Friday for $35, I've seen it's now down to $30, which seems like a steal. I think it's worth rolling the dice on this one given it's getting some decent post launch support and it's cheap and you get a cool Arwing toy as well.
Now, how about that Nintendo Direct? Wow! That was one of the best directs I've ever seen. Nintendo packed it with tons of great content. I was concerned that 2019 was going to be a bit lackluster given Metroid Prime 4 was delayed, but man, it is shaping up to be a great year for Switch fans. Nintendo is really firing on all cylinders with this Switch and has been very good about making sure there's always great content in the pipeline. I am buying Switch games left and right it seems. Not since the Dreamcast have I bought so many games for a system in such a short span of time.

Well, in what I feel is long overdue, Reggie Fils-Aime is going to retire. I've not been a fan of Reggie for some time now because I feel like he's not the leader everyone always said he was. He was a yes man. I've been working for Japanese companies for the past 16 years so I'm very familiar with how they operate. I've seen some Presidents that are true leaders and have their vision for things and they do what it takes to make that vision come to life, and I've seen others that basically just say yes to everything Japan tells them to, making everyone think it was their vision when in reality it was not. Reggie was the latter of the two.
He made a strong name for himself at Nintendo and in the gaming community, but ultimately Reggie just did what his Japanese overlords told him to do....nothing more, nothing less. I hope Doug Bowser, Reggie's successor, will do a better job of giving NOA more voice in Nintendo's strategy for North America. Because if NOA actually spoke up, we wouldn't be dealing with BS like Friend Codes and no in game voice chat in 2019.
I have no doubt this retirement was not Reggies choice, but rather strongly encouraged by NOJ. Nintendo recently had to adjust down their fiscal year targets for Switch and I'm willing to bet a large part of that down adjustment was US Sales not meeting targets. They probably feel it's time to get some fresh blood in the President's seat and asked Reggie to step aside. Just speculation from me, but that's what my gut is telling me.

That stinks. I haven't had it happen (yet) but it's annoying that Nintendo didn't use better components to avoid this problem.

I've been fortunate that I also haven't experienced drift issues, but I suspect it's only a matter of a time. I see a class action lawsuit has been filed against Nintendo. I hope they address this issue soon by offering some kind of mail in exchange program. If they keep ignoring things, it will get much worse, especially when the Switch Lites come out.

Replaced my left red Joy Con in February because of drift. It happened again. So the replacement is going BACK for repair. Argh. Hopefully I get it back before Christmas.

Sure enough, mine is being returned no questions asked. I'm assuming drift was confirmed and they are replacing it.
