Finished playing Rogue Squadron on the N64. Decent game but the Gamecube versions were WAY better and not insanely difficult

Finished playing Luigi's Mansion for the Gamecube (on my hacked Wii). I never played this game when I had a Gamecube and decided to give it a shot. I think the reason I passed it up the first time was because it was supposedly short.
I didn't think the length of time was really an issue for me when playing it now, but it was quite a bit repetitive. Not to mention there were some scenes that were just blatant attempts to pad the game, which got frustrating.
I could tell this game was a technical showcase for the Gamecube back in the day. The effects it showed off for a 2001 game were pretty impressive.
Overall, this was a decent, light hearted game and I enjoyed most of it. Would give it a 7/10

How did you even finish this in the age of Breath of the Wild?
TBH, I though you finished that...

Got the Platinum in Horizon and the Platinum in Lara Croft Go. Horizon is a fucking masterpiece. Lara Croft Go is underrated too.

Finished Zelda Breath of the Wild on Switch today. Wow...I don't think in all the years I've played games that I have poured so much time into a game so quickly. I don't remember the last game I've played for 100+ hours...maybe none, let alone doing so in 1.5 months. Normally I shy away from 100+ hour games because I know it will take me multiple months to complete them. Zelda just had me constantly wanting to boot up the Switch and keep plugging away for hours each day.
The game was fantastic and I absolutely loved it. Is it my most favorite Zelda game? That is tough. I enjoyed it immensely no doubt. It is absolutely one of the best Zelda games ever made. I think I like Ocarina of Time or Windwaker a tad more, but just a very little bit. Overall though, I loved the open world design and I cannot wait for the DLC to come out in this game later this year.

Completely agree. I'm approaching 100 hours myself and it sure doesn't feel like it. They made the game so much fun to just keep exploring that I'm still investigating areas I haven't been to yet and finding puzzles for shrines. The coolest thing about this game to me is the amount of 'stuff' you can (but don't have to) do. While optional, it's so much fun to do most of it you continually sidetrack yourself doing it. I can say definitively it's my favorite Zelda game.

Sweet lord, you're DONE?!?!
I have all but 1 map left and only 2 beasts. Still having a hard time finding lost of shrines, despite my son telling me he'll guide me. He's the worst at spoilers...

Recently picked up an Everdrive for my Sega Genesis. Been enjoying some classics on that system with my daughter. Just completed Altered Beast. My daughter doesn't like that there aren't any girls in the game. I told her we'll have to take the old Genesis code and replace the dudes with some girls and have our own version of the game. Altered She-Beast or something

Altered She-Beast or something I had no idea what an Everdrive was before reading this post (where have I been??). Very, very cool device, and they are available for different systems. Will have to pick one of these up eventually.

Buy from stoneagegamer.com They are made by a guy in the Ukraine (called Krikkz) and he has a deal with stoneagegamer to distributor in the US. Good stuff. I have one for my SNES, Genesis, and N64. I still want to get one for the NES, TG-16, and GBA.

In my attempt and recapturing my youth, I'm playing all the classic games I loved as a child. I played some more Genesis and recently finished the first Golden Axe game. I remember these games being longer, but I guess we weren't so demanding back then. Either way, I am loving the Genesis all over again.

Played through Contra Rebirth on the Wii. This was surprisingly a really solid Contra game. Definitely recommend to those that love the classic series and are looking for a good co op game to play.

My daughter and I played through the first Metal Slug game together. She seemed to enjoy it and is looking forward to seeing some of the other installments in the series

My daughter and I finished played Metal Slug 2. She gets a kick out of how crazy this series is. I have several more Metal Slug games as I picked up the Anthology collection so I'm looking forward to going through the rest of those games with her.
I also completed Castlevania: Dracula X on the SNES. Great game. It turns out there are some alternate paths and objectives you can do in this game. I may go back and play it a little more to check some things out. In typical fashion, it's not the bosses in Castlevania games that give me the most trouble, but rather then bobbling Medusa heads and bats that never end as you're trying to make some intense jumps form platform to platform. Another interesting thing about this game is that apparently the SNES one is different than the TG-16 one, so I guess I'll be playing the TG-16 version sometime soon.

We should just rename this to the dschroll Backlog thread. I actually do have something to contribute: Epic Word Search Holiday for 3DS. I love those word searches!

For whatever reason, I am really in a gaming mood these days. Check off Metal Slug 3 as I went through that one this evening. I also went back and replayed Dracula X and rescued a couple of people I missed the first time around. The cool thing was by rescuing one girl, you get to a new stage. You also end up fight a different boss later in the game. But the ending is only different in that you get a different still image than if you didn't rescue anyone. That was kinda lame. The new stage and boss were definitely worth going back and replaying for though.

Old Man's Journey on iOS. We tried it at PAX 2016 and I was a fan.
Short puzzle game with a good story. Worth the $5, if this type of game is your thing.
