Finished Uncharted The Lost Legacy. I was shocked at the length. I enjoyed it as much as any of the other games too. Shocked because it was longer/shorter than you thought? Still making my way through it, only a couple of chapters into the 1st part. It's definitely longer (in a good way) than I expected.

Way longer than I thought, in a good way.

I'm a big Uncharted fan but am getting burnt out on the series. I feel like it's too formulaic now and each game plays out the same way. How about this new one? Similar unfolding as normal Uncharted games or does it do something different?

Can't say it's not more of the same. It's like a lite version of Uncharted 4 with slightly different dynamics because of the leads (but not as different as you may think) and a little less pathos.

Yeah, a bit of the same. But TBH, I LOVE this series so the similarities don't bother me for some reason. But I get it, if it's not that different, why bother.

Don't get me wrong, I have loved all of the Uncharted games, but it's just gotten a bit stale for me when it feels like all the games play out the same way. Uncover clues that lead to a secret treasure. Clue leads you to new area. Somehow bad guys get to the area before you and have an entire platoon there waiting for you. Kill everyone (still not a fan that Drake killed so many people and didn't seem to care about it...) Repeat...

Decided to play through the first Contra on NES. What a great and frustratingly difficult game. I commend those of you that can make it through the game without the Konami code. I don't know if I have ever been, or will ever be, one of those people.

Finished the Volley Bats game in Rusty's Real Deal Baseball on 3DS. These are cute little mini games and I love that Nintendo make it a game of haggling on the price of the game itself.

Anyone in here finished Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze? I've always hated the game but I think that was partially because I was playing with my daughter who died all the time and it made the game seem too hard. Anyway, we picked it up again and I was curious how to "beat" the first world. We made it all the way to the boss and beat the boss but it didn't take us to world 2 when we did. There are several levels we cannot play. They are adjacent to levels we have beaten but we still cannot access them. I assume the game wants us to collect puzzle pieces or KONG letters or find some secret path. But it doesn't make it clear which, if any, of these is required to unlock the levels in world 1 that we have not beaten or make it to world 2. I guess I am starting to go back to hating the game. It seems a poor design when I don't even know what I am supposed to do next to see more of the game.

I think collecting the KONG letters opens things up. Not sure though as I haven't played through Tropical Freeze yet. I'm still feeling the pain from playing DK Country Returns on my 3DS. I don't think I've sworn more at a game than I did at that one

I'm with NoThru22. I really liked Uncharted Lost Legacy, it was similar to previous titles AND way longer that I would've expected.
Now onto either Life Is Strange Prequel or Metroid 3DS.

Played through the original Castlevania on my NES. I will confess, I had to use save states to help me clear that game, especially with the fight against Dracula in the end. Still, the game still holds up fairly well today....it's just insanely hard I recently picked up the AVS by retroUSB, so I'm excited to be playing future NES games on this device. Early impressions are that it's f'ing awesome and NES games have never looked so good. In case you don't know what the AVS is, here's a link for your reading pleasure: www.retrousb.com/product_info.php?cPath=36&products_id=78

Finished another game in Rusty's Real Deal Baseball called Make the Call where you play as the umpire. This game was ok, but it gets very challenging in the advanced stage. There were some calls where I would've sworn up and down it was a strike and the game called it a ball (or vice versa). Maybe I was right as a kid and games really do cheat as some of those calls were questionable

Life Is Strange Before the Storm, Ep 1.
Lord, talk about teen age angst. Good story, though a little more dramatic than it I care for.

Finished Metroid: Samus Returns on 3DS at 100%. Great Metroid game with some fairly challenging boss fights. If you're a Metroid fan, you absolutely must play this game. I just wish that the various ending picture of Samus was tied more to percentage completion than to time completing the game. I have no ambition to go back and do a speed run through the game. To me, Metroid is all about exploration so trying to go through it as fast as I can so I can see zero suit samus defeats the intention of the game IMO.
Anyway, glad to finally play something new on my 3DS. It's been getting ignored quite a bit since the Switch came out.

Whoa, you finished it already?! I barely spent enough time to get to the 1st save point. Hey, when a new Metroid game comes out, I make time immediately. I will be doing the same when Mario Odyssey comes out later this month

So, anyone else here score an SNES classic? I was able to pre order one at my local Gamestop and picked it up last week. After playing around with it over the weekend, I decided I want to beat every game on this device. Some I may not play on the SNES mini but rather an actual SNES, but I want to tackle the entire library. I already finished Super Punchout earlier on the actual SNES hardware, so I don't feel compelled to replay that one again (although save states would make it that much easier). So, last night I decided to tackle a game on the SNES mini that i likely couldn't complete on actual hardware without some kind of added game genie or something. That game was Super Ghouls and Ghosts. The ONLY way I could complete this game was with save states. I used the hell out of them too. At times, it felt like I would save my progress every minute because the bad guys appear randomly and I always wanted to keep my armor and weapons in tact if I could.
Not only is this game tough, BUT, when you get to the end (which I did), the princess tells you that you have to replay the game over again and find her magical bracelet so you can rescue her. Are you freaking kidding me? It took me constantly save stating the hell out of my progress on this game to make it through the first time and I have to replay it again this time to look for your bracelet? But I wouldn't let that deter me as I was determined to get the "Good Ending." So, I went through the game again, this time doing a bit better than the first time as I was better prepared for what was to come. Don't get me wrong....save state save state save state, but instead of every minute it was more like every 2-3 mins.
In the end, I found the dumb bracelet, fought the "real" last boss and saved the princess. Then you get that classic 16 bit ending where it says, "The End...?" It damn well better be because I'm not going back a third time to go looking for some necklace or anklet or something. She's on her own.
