I haven't put in the time you have, but I won't be surprised if this ends up as my favorite as well. It's just so good and keeps changing things up all the time to never get stale.

All my Tivo time has stopped. I'm only up to 13 hours and just started van ruta but I'm loving this game. I don't feel as discouraged not completing things as I don't feel as penalized.
I have resorted to going online when I'm stuck figure out part of a shrine (then realizing I'm missing so damn obvious) and trying to figure out how to survive van ruta. But for the most part, I've avoided spoilers despite my son sitting there w/ his youtube playing Zelda, so he can figure stuff out.
I did buy the one hardback strategy guide on Amazon. I wanted to have a reference book to just get me 'unstuck' when I'm caught somewhere.
I don't like most open world games. I didn't like No Man's Sky, Fallout never appealed to me. But this game just sticks w/ me for some reason, don't mind that it can take forever to play.

Dad when are you going to be done with the TV? I want to play Zelda.
Dad will you play Zelda with me?
Dad can I tell you what I did in Zelda today?
Why aren't your chores done? Because I was playing Zelda.
It's become an obsession.
I'm playing it with my 7 year old and my son is also playing all the time. It's all they can think about.
Well me too. Need to play more horizon though. That game is awesome too!

That's sounds like my house.
I have to remind him not to give me any spoilers.

Turned on the Amiibos. It's raining loot? A while back, I got an 'amiiqo' that can store Amiibos. Let's just say I got a Nor'easter of loot!

Can you provide a run down of what amiibos do for Zelda. I don't own a single amiibo but sometimes wonder if I should consider getting one or two as display items and because it would offer some cool features. Is there one or two that are amazing? do these work for multiple players?

I didn't buy the BotW amiibos but I have all the other various Zelda amiibos which should unlock some sweet bonuses for me. I just haven't used them yet, but I think I will give it a try. Speaking of Nor'easter, I'm enjoying one right now

I think I'm up to 53 shrines done, I've got the master sword, I've done one of the divine machines. There is still so much to do and see in this game and my switch is telling me I've played for over 65 hours. That can't be right. I don't feel like it's been 65 hours. Has it? Time kind of stops when I'm playing this game.

I'm up to 74 shrines now and 2 divine machines. Shrines are becoming harder to find now though and some of the riddles for the hidden ones are not so clear.
I had high hopes of finding all 120 without the need for a guide, but I'm not so sure I can do that. Admittedly, there is still a big chunk of the map I haven't explored because I don't have armor yet to protect me against heat, but hopefully once I find that I'll get another good batch of shrines.

I got the Faron Tower and tried to find shrines. That detector is worse than my iPhone LTE meter. I went everywhere and only found 1.
Only have Van Ruta but I want to get all the towers so I have the maps 1st so I understand all the references when I talk to people. My son wants to go 'in order' and he can't fully appreciate my wandering method.

I'm only at 40 shrines but I am in the hot area now. I won't spoil anything but I had no heat-resistant armor going in.

If I can't find any armor, I will go there myself and see if I can cook some food to keep me cool.

What amazes me is there are 900 koroks in this game. I've found like 55 or something. You would think I would be practically tripping over them, but it's been easier finding shrines than koroks

I get the impression that they want you to wander for Koroks. I always find them on top of something solitary or in the middle of a body of water on a weird island.

Current status: 90 shrines 92 koroks 3 Divine Machines
Going to try and find a few more shrines and make my way to the Goron area.

I just finished my second divine beast last night (fire / Goron area). It was a really interesting one I thought.
Around 55 shrines so far, haven't even hit all the towers yet. Still loving this game though! SO much to do! I can't even fathom trying for 100% with the amount of Koroks (I'm around 50 on those as well) ... even just doing all the side quests seems like a massive task.
I was thinking one of the reasons I like this game so much is that it reminds me quite a bit of my favorite game of all time - Metroid Prime. Just fantastic.
Oh, and there's going to be MORE content with the DLC!! (I bought it already, it was a no-brainer for me.) This game will be consuming my time for quite a while.

You guys way ahead of me. I have a handful of towers to find to fill all the maps. I only have about 16 seeds stashed because I have yet to find the forest where that Korok maracas guy went.
I'm only up to about 30+ shrines. I'm in the Goron area working my way towards that beast. I keep going 'near' shrines but can't seem to see them. I actually find myself doing a fair amount of cooking and finding recipes w/ a decent value. Then I sell them for rupees so I can get those outrageously priced items. Helps to use those Amiibos to harvest food/weapons.
