Does anyone know how to deal with a customer that owes you $400 but refuses to pay? What options might I have? I know this is Waay off topic but I respect a lot of your opinions and just thought I'd toss it out there. Do you have any type of signed contract or anything? If it was a verbal agreement, I'm afraid you're SOL and can just try and reason with the guy, but can't take any legal action.

You haven't seen Schlinder's List or Shawshank Redemption? Come on, bud. The ones I marked with a * (including those two) are ones I have seen before, but not since I bought them on DVD. So I'm not a total loser.

I guess I'm in the same boat as I have Schlinder's List still in its shrinkwrap on my shelf, last time I saw it was on VHS.
Reaper, as for your question, I'm not sure what other options you would have. Sorry. Very cool render, btw.

Just 80+ emails showing that we worked together and a request from me for $400. He agreed to pay but made up some fake illness to delay it and then never got back to me. He claimed he was bankrupt due to the illness. So, I checked on avsforum recently to see if he had started posting again... just curious if he had recovered. Imagine my dismay when I saw posts from this year indicating he had purchased: 1. A new plasma TV 2. A $1000 remote control 3. A new receiver 4. New speakers 5. Looking to buy a new LCD HDTV 6. $2k worth of blackout shades 7. A new HD Tivo The mother fucker obviously has some liquid cash. He just simply refuses to pay me. Man, it makes me hot under the collar! I can't afford that stuff and he denies me the measly $400 he owes me while he goes off buying all kinds of shit. GRR! I called him on the phone and confronted him about it. He said that I found the wrong user ID. I told him no... "I searched for XXXXXX, you indicated that was you in your messages to me." He agreed and then told me that he didn't actually buy anything... he was just asking about it. The posts clearly indicate otherwise. Liars blows ass!

Hey reaper, I'm sorry to hear about that. Unfortunately I'm not sure there is anything legal you can do. I mean, you can try and make some BS up that might scare him into paying you the money. Tell him you're speaking with your lawyer and taking legal action or something. Maybe tell him you're filing something to say him not paying will go on his credit report as you report it to the necessary people. Again, I don't know if anything can be done, but if you make some convincing statements that make him think something could be done, he may just pay you out of fear.
Unfortunately I had to do something back in college when I sublet my apartment and the kids that lived there trashed the place and I lost my entire deposit. After some large made up threats, got one of the 2 kids to pay me the money.

Good luck, reaper. Hope you get your money.
Well, I'm out for a small weekend getaway with the wife. Des Moines, Iowa of all places. Lots of eating and trying out new food places on the way.

I didn't know HBO had those movies on this month. Will have to set them up on the DVR.
Anyone notice the Exalt/Smite under our avatars? And there is Karma, too. Karma karma karma karma karmeleon...
I also just finished reading the book "Shadow Divers". It's a true story about these deep sea wreck divers who discover a WW2 german sub in the Atlantic and risk their lives trying to identify it. Very good book. I had no idea how dangerous wreck diving is. I listened to the audio book which had an interview with two of the main guys. Very interesting."

Football season begins tonight, WOOHOO!!! Finally.
And in the mean time I've been watching a show on Sci-Fi called "Who wants to be a Superhero?" Wow, you've got to see some of these people. One of the challenges was to ask civilians if you can borrow their clothes (to cover up their superhero identity) and then locate the right person for an item pick-up. Well they are all "distracted" by a lady trying to locate her missing child so you would think they would help her, right, considering priorities and that it is an obvious setup? Well, not everyone. Isn't that like Superhero 101? They had the same kind of setup last season and it was even worse!, but you would think these superheros in Season 2 would of learned by now.
And on one show Stan Lee, who is evaluating everyone, asked each individual what their superpower was, you know, since everyone did want to become a superhero. One lady had no idea and hadn't really thought about it. Come on. If I was going to be on a show where I wanted to be a superhero (which I never would btw), I would at least make the effort to come up with a super power. At least pull something out like being able to fly, x-ray vision, whatever.
That show is one of my guilty pleasures. I guess it's a good thing football is starting.

Kick off in MY hometown boys! Go COLTS!

Well, the first week of the NFL season is over and your Colts look pretty darn good. New England and Indy look like the teams to beat this year. Again.
I've got so much stuff on my DVR to get to that I think I'm going to have to delete some stuff because of the new TV series seasons and the NFL starting. The Office, Lost, Heroes, and there are a couple new series I'd like to check out though I can't remember the names of them.

Anyone looking to check out any new tv series this season? Might have to check out Kid Nation. Kind of reminds me of Lord of the Flies, but civilized?

I downloaded the pilot of Chuck and Bionic Woman. Now both are added to my Tivo's season pass list.

Did you watch Chuck or Bionic woman? I downloaded all of the Unbox stuff but haven't watched it yet. I'll just wait for the HD. I really can't watch non-HD on my plasma anymore... Prison Break was OK. K-Ville was kind of a dud. Will try the Kelsey Grammer show tonite, Survivor tomorrow. I've been watching Damages which is good but I can't see where the next season would go. I've also started Always Sunny in Philadelphia, but it's not as funny as the first season. Sometimes Psych is funny, but mostly for the 80's flashbacks. And of course, Heroes starts on Monday.

Of course I watched them both. Hence them now being added to my season pass.

Oh, I forgot about those two. Need to make sure to check them out. One thing that I've noticed, since I've gotten a DVR I've been watching way too much television. But at least it's without commercials! My youtube video of the day, check me out playing Tetris: That guy is unreal. Gets insane towards the end, even invisible!

www.aintitcool.com/node/33860Fall premiere dates so we can update the watching part of this thread. I'm going to give Chuck, Pushing Daisies, Back to You, and Bionic Woman a shot. K-Ville is on my Tivo now and I don't know if I'm going to watch it. I might give 30 Rock another shot. It won the best show Emmy despite the fact that I found the first three or four episodes unwatchable. I'm not saying that's enough to sway me, but it's enough for me to give it another chance.

Oh, and speaking of my signature, Curb is back in full effect! I was disappointed with the beginning and end of the 5th season, but maybe he was just burnt out (there was a 28 month hiatus between season 5 and 6.)

If I recall it did start out a little slow, but the quality from week to week was top notch for the majority of the season. Probably our second favorite comedy (to The Office).
