I love 30 Rock. Tina Fey's a great combo of hot and funny, IMHO.
I also think Tracey Morgan is hilarious. His vids on YouTube kill me. As long as you "get" him, he's funny.
We also make a game of trying to figure which weird character Rachel Dratch plays every week.

that's a lot of shows y'alls talking about. it used to be that i had no idea what people were talking about when they mentioned tely-o-vision - but that changed once i married my TV-a-holic wife.
and oddly enough, she doesnt watch any of this stuff.
anyhoo - i just finished reading "Watchmen" and "Hush". this Snyder kid better give it the same treatment he did 300 (i mean the paint-by-numbers treatment, not the drowned-in-slo-mo treatment).

Saw the premieres for Chuck and Heroes last night. Wasn't really too impressed with either yet, but that could of also been because I was pretty tired (was actually falling asleep during Heroes). With Chuck, at times it seems like it is trying to be very lighthearted and then tries to become very serious. It's just not meshing well with me yet, like they don't know which direction they want to take the series. I'll give it a couple more shots to get better (the spy is definitely easy on the eyes).
Heroes was kind of what I expected though I wish it could of started out with more of a bang. After the lackluster finale I was hoping to see it get off to a good start but it was more par for the course. Wasn't a fan of them bringing in more questions without really answering any of the ones from the previous season.

I watched Heroes and Journeyman last night. Really like Journeyman, kind of like a Quantum Leap remake but he goes back home between every 'leap' (and actually misses chunks of time from his real life during those absences). I thought they did a good job setting up the whole premise of the show in one hour while also having him do his first 'mission'. Anyway, I'll recommend it as a 'give it a shot' show this season. (Then again, every new show I start watching gets cancelled so maybe I shouldn't ... last year alone: "Daybreak", "Studio 60", "Justice", "The Nine".)
Oh, and How I Met Your Mother was great ... but that's par for the course.

Agree with everyone on Heroes. Was just ok. Season 1 finale was a real let down so was hoping that the season 2 opener would be huge. Unfortunately it moved slowly in sections and there just wasn't much happening.
I enjoyed the pilot of Chuck. Definitely gonna watch that one for at least a few eps to see how it moves forward.
Just got done watching Reaper. Again, was decent, but it could be lots better. I'll give it a few eps to see where it goes.

I kept seeing everyone talking about watching Reaper and was wondering what the heck everyone was talking about. Finally figured out it was a show and not our CYE buddy.
UsualNoise, I saw small teasers for Journeyman but just kind of ignored them. After reading your description it looks to be pretty interesting. Might have to check it out.

Watched Bionic Woman in HD. Not bad, good to see "Starbuck" in another show.
I'm confused on her non-bionic arm though. If her arm broke in the fight at the end, does her new "blood" allow her to heal organics faster too?
I'll keep this as a season pass and see how it goes. Could be decent.

I didn't notice Starbucks on there when I watched, but I always miss a lot of those kinds of details. I would of missed most of the Sony references that dschroll pointed out in Casino Royale if I wasn't looking for them while watching it.
I think her new blood helps her whole body to heal fast, remember in the beginning when she was scratched up in the face and it was mentioned that she healed very quickly, but I believe the only new 'parts' she has for her face are the one eye and ear. I'll also see how this one turns out.

No love for My Name is Earl? Though I've got to say that last night's season opener wasn't one of the best. There were some classic lines, as always, but not the sustained greatness I've come to expect. Rich

I'll occasionally catch a little of it before watching "The Office". It's a pretty good show what I've seen of it, it's one of those shows where if it's already on I'll watch it but not yet there to tuning in to watch it. Earl's ex-girlfriend/wife, she does a very good job at playing that part. Very funny.
Edit: Isn't she on the Dead or Alive video game movie? I think that movie was released straight to DVD. I wonder if anyone will admit to watching it. (I'm not above watching it if it's on TV, though I don't think it will on my DVD rental list.)

Yeah, Katee Sackoff, the first Bionic Woman, was Starbuck from BSG.

Ooooh, I thought you said you saw ad placement for Starbucks (the coffee shop), like you were a big cappuccino fan or something. Ha ha ha.

So far, out of the new stuff this season my favorite two shows have been Office and Kitchen Nightmares. The Office was expected but Kitchen Nightmares took me by surprise. I love seeing how they take a restaurant that has serious problems (whether it be food, management, service, etc.) and try to turn it around. Some of the characters on there are unbelievable. It makes you think twice about the food you are served.
I liked the second episode of Chuck better, so I'll continue to check it out. I'll catch up on Bionic Woman tonight.
Edit: Also heard that Sin & Punishment (N64) is available on the Virtual Console for the Wii. Previously, this never made it stateside so I'm looking at this to be my first Virtual Console download. Anyone play this yet?

Office: I didn't think last week was as good as I would've hoped. I still like it though. It'll be interesting to see Ryan as the boss tonite.
Heroes: SPOILER ALERT! Looking good so far. I do have a question on the the Honduran twin's power. Apparently she killed the truck of immigrants w/ her power. Then she killed her aunt after the tunnel. The brother came and did some wonder twin power and the aunt revived. Why wouldn't they have done that for the truck too?
Reaper: First episode wasn't outstanding but interesting. I'm halfway through this week's ep. I think the comedic effect helps make this show more acceptable since they don't have to take themselves so seriously.
Prison Break: Looks great in HD, but the amount of McGuyver tricks Michael has is a bit unbelieveable. Blowing up the water pipe w/ only a few minutes of thought?
Chuck: I only have the first episode. I have Prison Break and Everybody Loves Chris recording.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: A show w/ promise that has now jumped the shark w/ Devito. The first show was funny because of the way they shocked you. Now, it's too expected.

SPOILER ALERT: My assumption would be that there is a specific time that the brother has to reverse the damage. After that time has passed, the people cannot be healed and the process cannot be reversed. If you recall, there was a specific difference between th initial incident by the truck and the second incident by the tunnel. The difference was that in the second incident, the girl was still using her power. Black blood was oozing out of her eyes. This was not the case the first time. She was simply sitting there crying the first time... no black ooze. So, I think it was too late the first time to help anyone.

So far, my current TV rotation ranks:
1. Office - No really stand-out episodes yet but still enjoyable. 2. Kitchen Nightmares 3. Heroes 4. Chuck - Starting to like this more, like the "playful, doesn't take itself seriously" tone. The first episode, it was hard to get a good gauge on where this was going but a few episodes in I'm liking it. 5. Kid Nation 6. Back to You 7. Las Vegas - this is mainly one of those shows I play in the background while working out. Easy to follow without really having to pay attention. 8. Survivor - this is another "on in the background show". Just starting watching it again this year but I'm starting to lose interest. 9. Bionic Woman - Really not feeling this one so much anymore. I'll probably give it one more show before it leaves my rotation. I don't care for the acting, the story is ho-hum and the fight scenes are done really badly where the camera is so close you can't see the action happening. And I'm supposed to be impressed that the bionic woman is doing push-ups?? She's a bionic woman!

Here's mine:
1) Office 2) 30 Rock ... this show is getting better and better. Last Thursday's episode was the funniest thing I've seen on TV for a long time. 3) Heroes 4) Journeyman 5) Numb3rs 6) Survivor 7) CSI (only the original) 8) Biggest Loser (mostly 'cause my wife likes it) 9) Back To You 10) Simpsons 11) Family Guy 12) Cold Case 13) Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader 14) Don't Forget The Lyrics 15) The Singing Bee
Games: 1) Just finished Phantom Hourglass, need to find a few remaining items to feel 'complete'. 2) Starting the newly unlocked uber-hard mode of Elite Beat Agents. 3) Probably about 1/2 through all the puzzles in Picross DS.

No particular order: 1) Office - Hasn't really hit a stride yet, but still sometimes funny. 2) Heroes - I hope the writing gets better cuz this is starting to get really bad. 3) Chuck - Still sitting on my Tivo, haven't watch 'em yet. 4) Survivor - Used to REALLY love this show, I even sent in a demo tape a few years back. I think now they just put on a bunch of a-holes and idiots to create the drama. I still watch it but not as appealing as it used to be. They need to change some things in a big way. 5) 30 Rock - This show is FUNNY. I've always loved Tina Fey, like a high school crush. Tracey Morgan kills me, especially some of the stuff on YouTube. And the guy how played "Job" on Arrested Development, who my wife tells me is Amy Pohler's husband, makes me laugh just seeing him. 6) Journeyman - I gave up already on this one. 7) CSI - I have all 3 Tivo'ed but haven't caught up. Still haven't closed the Sara Sidle loop yet. 8) Cold Case - Starting to get boring 9) House - Haven't caught up yet 10) Bones - I really like this show, looks GREAT in HD. 11) Prison Break - This is starting to get old... 12) Everybody Hates Chris - I LOVE all the 80's flashbacks to the old school hip hop that I used to (and still am) be in to. 13) Reaper - Still pretty good 14) Damages - VERY good, haven't caught up on the last 4 episodes. 15) Shark - Not as good as last season 16) Rescue Me - One of the best written shows IMHO. Wish I had FX HD... 17) Always Sunny in Philadelphia - Not that good anymore 18) Bionic Woman - This is on its last legs. I'll give it one more episode. 19) Without a Trace - Haven't caught up yet, still on Tivo. 20) SNL - Pretty much I only watch skits w/ Amy Pohler and Andy Sandberg. Andy's digital shorts kill me.
Yes, I have a lot of playlists. I also have an HD Tivo w/ 750GB so I can keep a lot stored. It's great during the off season because it means I still have first run shows to watch when everything is in reruns. I better catch up before 24 and Lost start. Assuming Kiefer is out of jail by then...
Games: Phantom Hourglass - Just killed the 3rd boss. Do I have to go use that damn hourglass again? Sheesh...
